A Very beautiful 19th century Lakai tent band, great condition, 13 meters, all naturel dayes, a very unique piece, as 13 meter pieces in a good condition and complet is very rare to find.

This is a Qashqai jajim from early to mid 20th Century which was used not only as a sleeping blanket but also to cover the possesions at the back of the tent and to cover the loads during migration. It is in wonderful original condition and has a fabulous natural colours (the orange is analine). These twill weave jajims were normally woven on a narrow transportable loom in one long continuous strip which was then cut in half and the two pieces joined. The size is 183x155cms. Recommended.

Turkmen tentband (yolami) fragment, 240/38 cm, late 19th, nice example with strong graphic pile areas, excellent wool and dyes, three shades of madder, two shades of indigo, small highlight of cochineal, very good condition with small breaks in ground and minor nick out of edge.
